Purplewood is a non-fiction publishing and translation agency based in Seoul. After over 20 years of living between China and Japan, Susan Yun and Hwan Park translated their first English-to-Korean book, R. Taggart Murphy's Japan and the Shackles of the Past, in 2021, which quickly became a bestseller in South Korea. Since then, they have translated and published a variety of books on East Asian history and culture into Korean. They are now bringing Korean works to other publishers around the world, and hope to encourage further inter-cultural understanding among the many places they call home.
